The Gateway Regional School District

Project Information

This program is open to all Gateway students in grades 7-12. The first year will be a pilot year focusing on teacher training for grade 7, 8 and 9 teachers in the high and middle schools. The second year we will expand our laptop professional development to all teachers in grades 7-12.

We do however realize that the use of wireless laptop technology can still be used very effectively by all students in all classrooms. Additionally, we also have a large number of teachers in grades 10-12 that already use technology effectively in their classrooms on a day-to-day basis. Therefore, any student in any grade level interested in leasing or purchasing a laptop will be encouraged to do so. They will still be able to use all of the resources and opportunities that come with the project. We just cannot guarantee that the laptop will be part of the instruction in every classroom.

We have had a number of requests regarding the purchase or lease of personal laptops. After reviewing this with our vendors we have concluded that we can allow this. Anyone interested in doing a personal purchase can do this via one of two options: a direct purchase or through a GRSD lease. Anyone leasing through GRSD is still subject to all rules and regulations of the laptop lease program and must follow those rules until the lease concludes at the end of 36 or 48 months.

We have also created a discount program for students whose families qualify for the national school lunch program. Under this program any student that qualifies for free lunch will receive a 50% discount on their laptop lease or purchase. Similarly, students that qualify for reduced lunch will receive a 25% discount on their lease or purchase. To fill out the form to receive a discount please click here to download the form.
