Annual Staff Honors Reception May 23 2017 Honorees

The Gateway Regional School Committee will host their annual Staff Honors Reception, starting at 6 p.m. in the Gateway Courtyard on Wednesday, May 23. Eleven staff members will be honored for retirements and for special achievements.

Retiring staff to be honored include: Thomas Burns and Bob Keay, custodians; Maureen Kaminski, Peggy Leganza, Cheryl Meskevich and Alma Owen, paraprofessionals; Debra Robbins, high school secretary; Wendy McCaul, food services director; and Patricia Diefendorf (8th grade science) and Daniel Shea (high school science), teachers.  Denae Kessel Dostal, recipient of this year’s Pioneer Valley Excellence in Teaching Award, will also be recognized.

Staff, students, alumni and family members are all welcome to celebrate! (Please note that Alma Owen is unable to attend). Light refreshments will be served.

Golden Achievement Finalists Announced Display case with Golden Achievement winners

Principal Jason Finnie has announced the five finalists for the Golden Achievement Award, Gateway's highest honor. They include Dawson Atkin, Ryley Carleton, Joseph Coon, Audrey Gamble and Jessica VanHeynigen. Click here for details.

The vision of the Chester Elementary School staff is to create a learning environment that fosters respect, encourages curiosity and creates a desire in each child to attain his/her potential and become a confident life-long learner.

Student Registration

New to the district?


If you are moving into Blandford, Chester or Middlefield and your child is entering Kindergarten - Grade 5 they will be attending Chester Elementary School. 

Please click on the link below, print out the enrollment form, complete it and then call 413-685-1360 to make an appointment to finish the registration process. We look forward to you joining our school.
