PowerSchool - Frequently Asked Questions

Who should I call if I have questions?

Email: aburke@grsd.org

For grades and attendance in a specific class: Contact the teacher
For general attendance questions: Contact the main office at 413-685-1100

Do all teachers post grades and attendance?
All Middle School, Junior High and High School teachers post grades and attendance. The PowerSchool Student Information System pulls this information automatically from the data entered in the teacher's grade book. Grades and attendance information are available for viewing as soon as a teacher enters the information in their grade book.  District policy states that a teacher has 10 days from the due date of an assignment to post the grade.
How often can we expect grades to be updated?
Teachers try to keep grades as current as possible.  Please contact the individual teacher if you have concerns.
How often can we expect attendance to be updated?
Teachers are asked to record attendance each class period. Teachers may only enter attendance codes for Absence (A), Tardy-excused (TE) or Tardy-unexcused (TU). All other codes such as Absence Excused (AE) or Absence Unexcused (AU) are entered by the main office. The office enters a wide range of codes as they receive information from parents or other locations where attendance is monitored. Procedures for excusing your child from school remain the same.
