All students released 2 hours early for staff professional development.

Preschool students will be dismissed at 11 a.m. and there will be no afternoon preschool. Middle School and High School students will be dismissed at 12:05 p.m. Chester and Littleville Elementary students (K-5) will be dismissed at 1:20 p.m.

Lunch is served on all scheduled early release days. Wrap Around will open at 1:20 p.m. and parents should pre-register and pack a snack if their children are staying.

Agenda items will include the FY'17 audit and a review of building use policy, as requested by GYAA.

Superintendent's Evaluation Sub-Committee will also meet on April 25 at 6 p.m. in Dr. Hopson's office.

The YMCA of Greater Westfield is offering a new 8-week session of Functional Training Classes at the Gateway Wellness Center, beginning Thursday, April 26 and running through May 24.

Functional Training Classes consist of exercises that allow people to perform activities of daily life more easily and without injuries. It involves weight bearing activities targeted at core muscles of the abdomen and lower back, and may use battle ropes, kettlebells, free weights, TRX, core bar and more. This class can accommodate all fitness levels and can be modified where needed. YMCA instructor Tony Casale returns to lead this new series!

Two 45-minute classes will be offered at the Huntington site: from 3:15 – 4 p.m. and from 4 – 4:45 p.m. Space is limited to the first 12 who register.

The cost for Westfield YMCA members will be $45 for the entire 8 weeks. Non-members may enroll for $65 (also for the entire 8 weeks). To hold your spot, call the YMCA (413.568.8631) to pay over the phone with a credit card or debit card. (Registration and waiver forms may be completed on the first day of class).

This course is open to all adults in the community.
