Tips
for writing and sending an effective letter to legislators:
Write a (1) letter expressing your concerns and desires to your legislators. Suggested key points can be found in the box on the Projects page.
Hand-written original letters, phone calls, or visits to their offices are most effective.
Be sure to check office hours if you visit legislators!
Make sure you list all of the legislators on the letter so they know others have received the same letter.
Sign the letter and include your printed name, address, email and phone number.
Make 9 copies of the letter.
Mail one copy to each of the 6 Key State Legislators, the Governor, and to your town’s state representative and senator.
