We are excited to announce the kickoff of the the new Gateway On-Line Internet dial-up service.

This service is the Gateway Regional School District’s solution to provide local, low cost Internet dial-up access for our faculty, our students, their families and our communities. Since the district-wide introduction of the student laptop initiative, becoming a family oriented Internet Service Provider for the Gateway community has been one of our goals. Following nearly four months of testing, we are now at the point that we can offer such a service.

With this dream now a reality, our new goal is to offer the best possible family oriented dial-up service for our students, teachers and community. To that end we will provide accounts that are filtered and “family safe”, as well as, regular Internet accounts that are unfiltered. We will also provide up to two email accounts for each Internet account. The service itself will allow users to dial into local numbers in all seven of our towns, as well as, Westfield, Westhampton, Easthampton and Northampton. This will mean that users will not have to incur long distance charges to get online from their homes. Additionally, this service is fully digital which means, depending on your home computer, should yield very good Internet connection speeds.

To cover the on-going cost of our local dial-up lines and Internet connections, along with maintenance and support we must charge a fee to keep the system operational. The fee structure will be as follows:

3 Months - $45 (Any Quarter)
6 Months - $90 (Any Two Successive Quarters)
12 Months - $150 (July 1 - June 30)

New account registration and billing will occur on a quarterly cycle starting on July 1, October 1, January 1 and April 1. Accounts will be billed two weeks prior to the start of service date and payment must be received within the two week period following the start of service. As an added incentive. Any teacher signing up and paying for the service prior to July 1st will receive free service for the month of June. Additionally, anyone paying 12 months in advance will receive two months of service free.
