Save the date: Free Seminar on Paying for College

Huntington- Want to learn how to pay for college?  Gateway Regional High School will be hosting a college financing seminar on Monday, November 20, 2006 from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. in the Gateway Performing Arts Center.

Mr. Troy Davis, a representative from the Massachusetts Educational Financing Authority (MEFA) and Elms College, will be the presenter. He will discuss various aspects of financial aid and the process parents and students go through when applying to college.  Topics will include how to fill out financial aid application forms, the process of filing the appropriate forms, how financial aid is calculated and awarded, how to compare financial aid award letters, and making alternative financing decisions.

Admission is free but we are requesting that you RSVP to Jeanene Iglesias, Guidance Secretary by Nov. 14th at (413) 685-1107.    You may also call the Guidance Office for further information and directions.

The event is part of Gateway’s annual college and career awareness week, sponsored by the Foundation for Excellent Schools.  The week will also include career awareness activities on November 21st, and a College Fair during the half-day of school on November 22nd.
