Plans In Works to Make It Easier for Your Child to see the Dentist

Huntington- You want to have your child seen by a dentist, but you work 30 miles away from home and it would involve taking time off from work.  There must be a better way.  What if your child could be seen at school?  Wouldn’t that be easier?

The above scenario is very common in our rural community where parents drive long distances to work.  Two grants from the Oral Health Foundation and the MassHealth Access Program to the Hilltown Community Health Center are meant to change this and improve your children’s access to dental services.

The Hilltown Community Health Center in conjunction with the Gateway School District is exploring the best way to bring dental services to our schools next year.  However, we need your input in how we can best serve your children’s needs.  We also need a few parents to work with us to ensure that the dental program we develop meets the needs of the community.   Please contact Mary Jo Maffei, Dental Outreach Planner, with suggestions, questions or to find out more information about volunteering to help at 238-4117 or mmaffei@hchcweb.org.  We will continue to keep you informed about the program as it progresses.
