Three Gateway musicians selected for Western District Concert

Huntington- Three music students from Gateway Regional High School were accepted into the Western Massachusetts District Music Festival this school year.  Kristina M. Loomis of Russell and Joshua S. Oleksak of Chester will perform with the Western Massachusetts District Festival Chorus.  Jennifer E. Mason of Worthington was selected to perform clarinet with the District Festival Concert Band, and also earned an audition to the Massachusetts All-State Music Festival. She will audition for that concert on January 27th.

All three won their places on the basis of auditions held on November 11th.

The Massachusetts Music Educators Association sponsors the district and state music festivals.  The Western Massachusetts concert will take place on January 13th at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, at 3:00 p.m.
