Middle School Principal search moves forward

Huntington – Superintendent David Hopson has announced that the search process for a new Middle School Principal is progressing as scheduled.  The screening committee has reviewed applicant resumes and has selected five highly qualified individuals to move forward for interviews.

Our MS Principal of many years - Mr. Peter Curro--is retiring at the end of this school year. Peter came into the district in 1974 as an English teacher, became Assistant Principal in 1986 and Principal in 1988.

Over the next three weeks, the Superintendent will be conducting background checks and scheduling interviews with the screening committee, which includes Behavioral Specialist/Adjustment Counselor Nancy Bradbury, Grade 6 Teacher Matt Collins, Grade 7 Social Studies Teacher Steven Estelle, Director of Pupil Services Margery Gerard, Grade 7 English Teacher Sue Luppino, Grade 7 Special Education Teacher Cathy Negri, and Middle School Guidance Counselor Richard White.

The committee expects to reach a final decision by mid to late March.
