Welcome to Littleville Elementary
Our close proximity to Gateway Middle and High School allows us to involve these students in our day. Several Middle School students come over to our school during their Community Service block and work in classrooms assisting teachers or being reading buddies with the students. We also have some High School students doing internships in some of our classrooms.
Our new Media Center is a used for a variety of purposes. Students have a regularly scheduled visit each week, thanks to our many volunteers. Classes can use this center as available throughout the week. It has also become the meeting place for many before and after school meetings. Students carry their laptops to the Media Center to work on various projects. Speaking of laptops, our third and fourth grade students continue to integrate technology into their learning day with the laptops. We were fortunate to receive a Lighthouse Grant a few years ago to get this started.
Several teachers received training through the literacy collaborative in past years. These teachers often still meet to share ideas, brainstorm, and set up parent information sessions. We use a variety of assesssment tools to monitor student progress and plan for instruction
Music, art and physical education are provided each week.
