Introduction

Why learn about electricity?

Imagine for a moment living in a world without electricity.  What would your home look like?  What would your school day be like?

Now you are going to visit some websites to learn a little more about electricity.  You will encounter some interactive activities along the way.  Pay attention and have fun!


 



The Task

Your job is to:

  • identify the parts of an electrical circuit
  • explain how a circuit works
  • identify electrical safety tips
  • be able to list conductors and insulators of electricity



The Process


1.  Go to Electric Circuits.  Carefully read through and complete the activities in these categories:

  • Electricity in the Home
  • Introduction to Circuits
  • Circuit Components
  • Changing Circuits
  • Circuit Diagrams 

2.   Go to Brainpop.com.
Go to Science movies and watch the one on electricity and take the quiz.

3.    Build and test circuits here.

Evaluation

Go to your "Think Book" and sketch or write about 3 new things you learn about electricity by completing this webquest.  Be sure to label your diagrams and use complete sentences
