Welcome

FROM THE NURSE’S OFFICE

If your child is going to be absent please call the school (any time, we have an answering machine) and let us know.  Otherwise the nurse will be calling you.  We do this for safety reasons, but it is important to know what illnesses are going around our school’s population.

If your child has been sick in the last twelve hours vomiting or having a temperature over 99.6 degrees please keep them home, they probably need the rest and we would like to prevent the spread of sickness/germs.

Fluoride treatments are given weekly for grades one through four, Pre School and Kindergarten are too young to have developed the technique for swishing.

The breakfast program is a way to encourage good nutrition, socialization and a positive way to start the day.  If the mornings are rushed or you don’t seem to have the means for a healthy meal, your child may come to breakfast of yogurt, juice or fruit, cereal and milk served in the cafeteria each morning before school begins.

Please keep in mind that proper hand washing techniques have been taught to each one of our students and we encourage everyone to use these techniques. Our goal is prevention thus limiting the spread of germs in our school and through out they’re every day activities.

To give you an idea of the timeframe of the curriculum that is taught, I have listed below topics to be covered in Health Classes at Chester Elementary School:
