We LOVE Math! (most of us do, anyway...) |

In third grade, we are covering all the basics in Math, which are not-so basic if you are trying to master them for the first time. Starting with number sense and place value, moving through addition, subtraction, and that old devil regrouping, on to money and time, then multiplication and division, followed by fractions and geometry. There's a lot to learn, and we try to do things in a number of ways. Hands-on activities, worksheets, games, computer programs like Study Island (MCAS prep-thank you, PTO!) all make us more comfortable with not just the computational side of math, getting the right answer, but the conceptual side: what does it mean? |
