READING
Students
often complain that they can't read or don't like to read. That
usually means reading is difficult for that person. There really
is one way to fix that......READ MORE!!!! Honestly, practicing
really helps....start small....pick a book you think you'd enjoy.....or
find a magazine you like. Read to younger brothers or sisters.
Read to your mom and dad while they cook dinner. See if
you can borrow a book on tape (from the library) and read along from the
actual text. This last idea is one of the best proven methods for
improving reading fluency (speed and accuracy). So what are you
waiting for? Get out there and read!
And if you happen to be a boy who really doesn't like
to read...there may be hope yet. Check out this site: www.guysread.com
