- Tuesday, April 9: School-Based Health Center at Chester ES; ASVAB Exam, 8 a.m.; Wednesday, April 10: NHS Induction, 6 p.m. in the Gateway Performing Arts Center;
- Thursday, April 11: MUN International Dinner, 4:30 – 6 p.m. in the Gateway cafeteria; $7 adults; $5 students and senior citizens;
- Friday, April 12: Baseball Team vs. McCann Tech at home; JV and Varsity, 4 p.m.
- Saturday, April 13: Gateway Night at the Springfield Thunderbirds, 7:05 p.m.
- Monday – Friday, April 15 – 19: Schools Closed for Spring Break
- Monday, April 22: Schools Reopen
- Tuesday, April 23: 2-Hour early release day (details below), Wrap Around Open; Home baseball and softball games, 4 p.m.; JV and Varsity

GATEWAY’S OWN “HOMETOWN HERO”: Heroes are often depicted as characters with spandex suits, superhuman abilities and an impressive ability to maintain several identities, but what about the heroes in our local community? What do they look like? (Article by Sr. Communications Intern Kilee Holmes)
TEACHER SHARES OUTDOOR ADVENTURE WITH CLUB: Elementary art teacher Amy Thornton shared stories and pictures of her 20-day, 226 mile adventure down the Colorado River with members of the high school’s Outdoor Club and faculty guests.
KINDERGARTEN SCREENINGS IN MAY: Call now for a packet that includes instruction on scheduling an appointment (children who will be age 5 on or before September 1) and paperwork that must be completed and brought to screening.
ALL INVITED TO THURSDAY’S INTERNATIONAL DINNER: Come to Gateway on Thursday, April 11 and enjoy Model United Nations’ annual fundraiser—an International Dinner that includes wonderful food from many cultures and trivia questions from around the world! Gateway cafeteria, 4:30 – 6 p.m., admission is $7 adults, $5 students/senior citizens.
APRIL CALENDAR REMINDERS: All schools will be closed April 15 – 19 for Spring Break; Wrap Around will be open all week. 99 THUNDERBIRDS TICKETS SOLD--PUT US OVER THE TOP BY CALLING TODAY! Ticket orders have gone in but our rep, Katie Force, will take your order over the phone this week if it puts us over the century mark! Tickets ($17) are for Pedro Martinez Night at the Springfield Thunderbirds and final regular season game. It's also "Gateway Night" and a portion of every ticket sold will be donated to the Gateway Education Foundation. Fun family night to kick off Spring Break--and a great cause to boot!
