 Seeking Paraprofessionals for Gateway Regional- Extended Year Summer Program

 

The Gateway Regional School District is seeking direct care Paraprofessionals to work under the guidance and direction of Special Education teachers and Related Services professionals providing academic, behavioral and social emotional support to students with disabilities for the Summer program (Extended Year Services).

Candidates must be compassionate, patient and flexible. Experience working with children is preferred but not imperative, the district recognizes the unique circumstances of providing services to students over a year into a pandemic.

Current students of the district are not an option although students who have graduated two years or more, are encouraged to apply.  Candidates must be willing to participate in an abbreviated training in CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute), to learn the necessary skills to successfully de-escalate students.

Pay Rate-$ 25 per hour

The District Extended Year Summer Program will run Monday through Thursday, July 5 through August 4 2022 for four hours daily, 8am to Noon

Long-Term Substitute: Paraprofessional

Chester Elementary

 

Gateway Regional is seeking a caring individual to provide intensive behavioral, adaptive, and educational supports to young students with disabilities in a substantially separate, self contained environment. Ideal candidate will be patient, thoughtful, and demonstrate the ability to build relationships and administer support to intensive needs students.  Working under the supervision and guidance of the district BCBA and lead teacher, this candidate will be able to perform daily acquisition, maintenance, and generalization skills as part of discrete trial teaching.  This individual will collect and complete data sheets, follow behavior plans, reinforcement schedules, and maintain appropriate communication with parents.
